RTV Double R concept with HUD sees you through everything

RTV-Double-R-concept-w...

Designed by Roberto Rodricks, a 2010 Coventry graduate, the RTV (Rapid Tracked Vehicle) concept is a series of three vehicles, including Double R Racer, Double R Response and Double R Weapon, sharing an identical layout and design. The “Double R Racer” is essentially an all terrain race vehicle to set new speed records in the class, and the “Double R Response” is a high-performance search and rescue vehicle that can move on virtually everything, from snowy mountains to deserts, while the “Double R Weapon” is a military vehicle that comes equipped with arms and ammunition. Though all three vehicles present the same design, still they maintain individuality with diversified functions.
Powered by 5.5-liter V12 engine capable of generating 650 horsepower, the RTV Double R runs on bio-diesel to take you from zero to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds. Finished in a variety of materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, aluminum and titanium, the single-seater accommodates the rider in the middle to provide a wide viewing angle. The RTV also includes an advanced heads-up-display to project all the essential navigation and driving information quickly and easily onto the windscreen.

Dreigeteilt

Dreigeteilt

Awake Your Inner Vandal by Ilan Dei

Awake-Your-Inner-Vanda...

Venice, California-based designer Ilan Dei has sent us his Awake Your Inner Vandal collection of furniture that features graffiti hidden inside or underneath the pieces.

.
Description from Ilan Dei:

In his obsession with nature and ongoing exploration of water, Ilan Dei has created a contrasting collection between well crafted contemporary furniture and urban graffiti.  Unnoticeable at first glance the graffiti is like a seedy underbelly of the furniture that you can only experience from certain angles and interactions. The elegant wood credenza, console and side table were inspired by Dei’s travels to the desert coastlines of Namibia, while the subtly constrained graffiti is applied as an urban infusion inspired by the street art around the Venice Beach Studio.

Lights Without Restraints

Lights-Without-Restraints

Hello check it out! This is a roundup post collecting an array of lighting instruments (lamps, if you will,) as created by Brand van Egmond. This design label is a/THE pioneer in Dutch ‘Haute Couture lighting design. Designers William Brand and Annet van Egmond founded Brand van Egmond in 1989 with the “sole intention to create art without restraints.” And then there were lamps. Devour the lit gallery below, now with bonus seats!
“Broom” is the “catwalk” model lamp in this collection. Made for office environments and contemporary lounge interiors.

“Coco” is not a late night comedy host. Coco is instead a sophisticated lamp with “Eyes Wide Shut” features and an enchanting feminine silhouette. Strings of black and clear crystals make up the bulk of this lover.

“Digital Dreams” is a lighting sculpture, using the personalized power of photos which you insert to illuminate your living space.

“Flower Power” is one of two bits in this collection that it work perfectly fine without lights. Laser cut steel plates made into flowery shapes. Made for lounging.

“La Vie en Rose” is a flexible system of rose-shaped sculptures with which you can create a bouquet of flowers with crystals.

“Woodstock Sitting Object” is another sitting object and the last in this roundup. Big, curled, curved and tangled iron. Nickel plated, powder coated white or powder coated black. High gloss polished.

Graffiti Deception

Graffiti-Deception

It’s not random chance that I, a resident of my state, should be allowed to do a writeup on this lovely graffiti furniture. I live in Minnesota, USA, a state where graffiti is almost exclusively under, behind, or inside of things. You won’t find much of any graffiti out on the streets, only under train bridges, behind doors, and in alleys. Similar is the nature of this collection of furniture: “Awake Your Inner Vandal,” which designed by Ilan Dei is comprised of three lovely, surprising bits.
“Namibia Credenza – Evolution Revolution” is a lovely wooden cabinet with two large surprises. In the left set of doors you will find the word “EVOLUTION” written in giant graffiti lettering, in the right, “REVOLUTION,” all of it in wild, powerful colors.
“Namibia Side Table Aquatic Life” is a circular side table with a mirror that reveals not just the bottom of the table, but, what’s that? Some super cute koi fishies!
“Namibia Console” is the simplest table of the three, this one with a very simple accent around the inside of the rim of the base of the table. Around this rim are some rather abstract graffiti shapes in gray tones.

A Double Divide

A-Double-Divide

Two objects, both by Vital Steel NYC, both made for dividing up rooms without major construction work. One of them is called UNA, the other ANDRA. First “Una” is floor-to-ceiling single panel room divider, then Andra is a three panel free-standing room divider. Both of them are constructed of laser cut steel and hand blown glass.
Vital Steel NYC is a new business made by a husband and wife by the names Robbin and Benno. Vital Steel NYC is a design studio for modern steel and hand-blown glass room dividers and screens. Wild!

Digital service ranking board gives real time customer feedback

Digital-service-rankin...

The Nothing ‘One-2-Ten’ system a digital service ranking board is a welcome respite from customer feedback books with poorly scribbled notes. The device is a great way to gain vital feedback from the customers on the quality of service offered in real time.
The device uses a color-coded touchpad from one to ten. The average of the ratings gets digitally displayed in real time on a screen. The system can be used in a store, restaurant or a hotel and serves as a great tool to encourage employees on rendering quality service to get better ratings.
