New multi-touch iPod Touch receives FaceTime, HD recording and retina display

New-multi-touch-iPod-T...

Harsh as it may sound, we were almost forgetting the good old iPod Touch. It’s not until now that Apple were pretty much in the same denial but that doesn’t hold no more. They have upgraded the already endearing media device to accommodate a bunch of features that could leave us gaping. First on is the reduction of bulk. The new iPod Touch has gotten a lot slimmer than it earlier was. Speaking about features, you can now enjoy FaceTime, Retina Display, a 3-axis gyroscope, HD video recording, GameCenter and an Apple A4 core. Of course, it’s going to cost you more than it used to earlier.
There are a lot of people I know who barely use the iPhone to make calls. It’s more like a personal media assistant and with the iPod Touch adding so much more to it, this one’s bound to be a raging success among such. $229 for 8GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB.

New, improved iPod Nano with multi-touch

New-improved-iPod-Nano...

For those of you who totally hated the jog wheel in the iPod Nano, here’s some matter for consideration. The company has done away with the wheel only to replace it with an awesome multi-touch display screen. All it takes is a few touches here and there on your 1.54 inch screen to get your favorite tunes playing on this rendition of the Nano that’s 46% smaller and 42% lighter than its predecessor. Definitely, it has a whole new operating system (that isn’t iOS) and maintains a streamlined navigation scheme. It provides with features such as a healthy 24 hour battery life, Voiceover (with 29 languages), FM radio, Nike+ support and a pedometer. It has hard volume buttons.
It maintains the four-color scheme as the iPod Shuffle and in addition also adds graphite red and Global Fund-sponsored red. The 8GB versions costs $149 while the 16GB Nano will come for $179.

Microsoft’s Arc Touch Mouse gets official

Microsofts-Arc-Touch-M...

If you have been buzzing around the tube too long you’d know that this cool Touch Mouse by Microsoft was already on its way to town after the German-store leak case. Nonetheless, it’s all official now that the mouse, also known as the ‘Arc’ will be shipping this year. Besides the obvious shape it maintains a touch-sensitive strip where you’d otherwise find the scroll wheel. The ‘buttons’ though can be used for multidirectional scrolling and programming gestures. The 2.4GHz wireless mouse has a portable ‘folding’ design.
Last but not the least, it also packs the company’s BlueTrack Technology. It will ship with a pair of AAA batteries that will last over six months. Expect it to ship in December for $70.

iPod Shuffle lovers treated with classical design in Gen4 model

iPod-Shuffle-lovers-tr...

If you’re reeling about how awesome the iPod Shuffle really was when it did come in all its glory and uniqueness then here’s a reason for you to make yet another purchase. It will have a colorful army with silver, green, pink, blue and orange pieces, each with a single capacity offering of just 2GB, borrowed features from the previous VoiceOver model and of course, an affordable price. May slate this one to be the best model of the iPod Shuffle yet. It takes more of a squarish shape and even gets more compact than it already is. It can keep you entertained for 15 hours straight, after a single, full charge.
A full review of the new iPod Shuffle is due next week though a premonition states that it’s pretty much a piece that’s borrowed all the best features from its predecessors. It will cost you just $49.

Movie watchers can enjoy some amazing 3D movies thanks to this projector that will turn your home into a cinema hall. All you need with this is a pair of active shutter glasses (that are used with the company’s TV range) and enjoy the ‘natural’ 3D awesomeness. The model is to be called the VPL-VW90ES. The features include an upgraded SXRD 240Hz Panel for ‘crosstalk’ reduction, compatibility with 2D projection, 150,000:1 contrast ration thanks to Sony’s Advanced Iris 3 technology, low fan noise, customizable viewing experience with respect to the room and a simple setup.
The first Sony 3D Home Projector will be made available in Europe by November this year. As far as the US release is concerned, we’d have to wait for CEDIA.

New Apple TV remote control gets longer

New-Apple-TV-remote-co...

Everyone was waiting with baited breath as the awesome new Apple TV was preparing itself to be present before us by none other than Steve Jobs. What stuck in my head was the brilliance of the remote that Apple have worked on, given its impetus to a minimalist approach. There are, evidently, two remotes that the company will be flaunting. The old remote wasn’t what everyone seemed to detest because it didn’t feel like a device that you’d be battling your grandmother for. The new one on the other hand is longer, is made of aluminum, dons the usual six buttons and somehow feels better.
If you’re wondering about the second remote then fret not. You probably already own it. That’s right, it’s none other than your iPhone/iPad/iPhone.

Acne Cream Vending Machine in Japan is a Waste of Space

Acne-Cream-Vending-Mac...

The Japanese are known for their modesty and shame, so whoever thought that placing an acne cream
vending machine in a busy, central Yokohama shopping mall was a good idea needs some lessons in
marketing and business. Proactiv Solutions’ acne cream vending machine looks fantastic. With a touch screen menu, clean lines of acne products and images of shiny, clear-faced beauties smiling radiantly out at you, the vending machine really is high class. But seriously, no spotty faced teen is going to risk the shame of standing in the centre of a shopping mall and taking the time to select and purchase their zit cream, which is probably why this machine stands lonely. Aside from this, products can only be purchased by credit card. There is no mobile integration or even cash facility, which tend to be favored by the Japanese public – zitty or otherwise. This is a big business boob, if you ask me.
Whether Proactiv Solutions’ acne cream works or not, is unknown.

New iPod Touch camera just about 1 megapixel, there was no room for higher

New-iPod-Touch-camera-...

The new iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle along with a whole lot of neat new Apple stuff was announced just last night and I have to say, I’m quite impressed. The new Touch though, seems like an iPhone minus the phone part with its retina display and A4 processor, but I have no real complaints. I’m particularity happy with the new cameras they loaded onto the device. If you’re under the impression that the iPhone and iPod Touch cameras are the same though, think again. The main (rear) camera’s resolution on the Touch is just 1MP i.e. 960 x 720 pixels. But you’ll still get 720p HD videos however. From iFixIt we now understand that there was just no more space in the new Touch to include a high resolution camera with two cams already on board. I’m curious to see just how good the new camera actually is. Will it be as good as the Philips GoGear Cam? I can’t wait to check it out.

Behold! LG’s Optimus Pad

Behold-LGs-Optimus-Pad

LG’s tablet isn’t something you could take lying down. Just like the Samsung Galaxy Tab seems to be the next best thing after the iPad we may well be looking at another major release from the tablet domain, by none other than LG. Called the Optimus Pad, the tablet will be packed with an Android operating system that will give users a lot to look forward to. It’s an undying surge when it comes to pick between Android and Windows 7. Prima Facie it seems quite slim.
