Since Super Bacon Sunday #10 was rather ordinary I decided to try shaking things up. From Fraser's 12th birthday party there were some hard (and flat?) taco shells which I thought would be nice filled with scrambled eggs. And bacon, of course.
Well, eggs scrambled with some chopped onions and the bacon were very nice but the taco shells tasted crap.
Should just have wrapped it all on tortillas.
The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was pretty much perfect with the bacon and eggs, though.

Well, it was Super Bacon Sunday 9 that was the awesomest one so far and for number 10 I wasn't in the mood for topping it. But I was in the mood for omelet (again) so I made one along with a crapassload of bacon and some fried mushrooms leftover from Saturday's dinner.
The Anchor Liberty ale was a bit too bitter for the food but still nice. A Sierra Nevada Pale Ale would have been nicer.
The photo is, well, rather crappy. Deal, just look at the crispy bacon.

scrambled eggs, mushrooms and bacon - lots of crispy fried bacon that is =) ... added melting cheese against the healthy looking mushrooms and added pudding to compensate for the milk and orange juice ^_^

This, my friends, was the most glorious Super Bacon Sunday of them all.
A bacon sandwich made with toasted white bread, onions, some home made sauce, five rashers of crisp bacon and a sunny side up egg to top it all. Two rashers on the side along with home made apple chutney and home made chips with olive oil, coarse salt, rosemarin, garlic and a bit of black pepper.
The chips and chutney were lucky leftovers from Saturday night's rather nice home made lamb hamburgers with chevre on home baked sourdough buns. The burgers being another recipe got from the Swedish alcohol monopoly's recipe suggestions for food to drink beer with. Incidentally the lamb burgers were fantastic with some Brooklyn Brown Ale. Everything meshed.
And so was it with this glorious Super Bacon Sunday. Everything meshed. I have long meant to do a bacon sandwich like this but the missing ingredient was the sauce. I decided to try to make something myself and ended up using some sour cream, a bit of mayonaise added and then a small pile of lemon pepper. Worked well enough but I could have put more than a quarter of an onion in there to go with it.
The chips tasted delicious with the sandwich and the chutney played along nicely and provided the refreshing taste to counter all the greasy goodness. The Red Seal Ale worked well with the whole dish making this pretty much a perfect (very) late brunch.

This was a back to the basics Super Bacon Sunday. A bun, or a roll if you will, stuffed with an egg, a bit of HP sauce and four rashers of bacon.
Seven rashers on the side.
No pansy post-processing either on the photo.

A bit more sophisticated this time around. We had baked mushrooms filled with lentils with boiled root vegetables and, of course, bacon. Lots of it.
Quite good and the Left Hand Milk Stout was a very interesting combination with it. Got the recipe from the magazine of the Systembolaget and the recipe can be found online. In Swedish, mind.

Went for a simple classic this Sunday - the BLT. Obligatory toast, mayo, and pinch of salt and pepper of course. This relatively simple bacon winner went very well with a Sam Addams Cherry Wheat/Guinness Black and Tan.

Something different this time around. This is just a quick, unprocessed photo I uploaded but it's shot with my "new" Nikon SB-26 Speedlight. Got it earlier in the day and since then I've been driving everybody nuts with experimentation.
Anyway, on to more important matters: The bacon.
This time around I made breakfast tacos using a video by Robert Rodriguez as a guide. Home-made taco bread, fried egg and potatoes with jalapenos and bacon. Inside the taco and on the side.
Eventually I added some hot sauce and "guacamole dip". I'll have to go for home-made guacamole if I try this again.
